Abstract

Consuming market increasingly requires that companies assure higher quality products. These companies in turn are in search ofsolutions to meet such requirements, and thus consolidate their image and credibility with consumers. Such initiatives lead to gainsand make these companies more competitive so as to figure prominently in the markets they operate. This article aims to understandhow Netuno Pescados uses HACCP - HAZARD ANALYSIS AND CRITICAL CONTROL POINT system, in order to assure ahigh safety level to products delivered to markets it serves. This system is based on the principle that biological, chemical andphysical dangers may exist in several points of the industry. However, preventive measures can be taken to control them and removepotential risks to consumers’ health.This company has a prominent position in segments of improvement, commercialization anddistribution of fish, lobster and shrimp. The concern in supplying products with guaranteed quality enhances the efforts of all peoplewho make the company, and makes quality control an important piece in its productive chain. Interview has been used as the maintechnical procedure for data collection. Results achieved are described within a logical order, and are organized in flows and synopticcharts, which facilitates visualization.
