Keywords:
Rural administration, Agricultural management, Rural family, Absorption capacitiesAbstract
The objective this article was to describe the main difficulties that rural families face in managing their properties. Rural administration is characterized by the administrative functions of planning, organization, leadership, and control of all activities involving rural property resources. In the contemporary context, the professionalization of rural producers goes through content review due to the technological increase in the different activities that drive precision agriculture, forcing the producer to develop the capacity to absorb new information that can form the basis of the professional identity of the rural producer. This is descriptive research, guided by the strategy of a single case study, with data analyzed by the content analysis method and categorial analysis technique. The results indicate difficulties in breaking with inherited practices and behaviors, especially regarding gender discrimination and ageism. The challenges lie in recognizing the capacities of young people and women in formalizing management and designing strategies to maintain the members of the new generation of the family, in the theoretical perspective of the “new rural”. Breaking with traditional production and marketing practices carried out by men has become crucial for the success of rural property management, as such practices limit the spaces for women to act and for young people to express their absorption capacities.
