The objective of this paper is to identify the role of intermediary agents in the development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in Brazil related to the market for negotiating carbon credits. In this context, the aim of this work was to identify the types of possible relations between those involved in the negotiation process of CC, some mechanisms of relationship between companies for the implementation of CDM projects, such as strategic alliances, joint ventures and outsourcing. The research was carried out by means of case studies. We observed that companies that hire these projects in Brazil use intermediary companies as outsourced labor for developing them because of their greater expertise in the subject, or they even set up joint ventures when the opportunity for future financial results proves to be advantageous.
