The link between strategy and core competences is an effective way of the organization works its intentions and priorities in the strategic field translating them into practices and real actions that can contribute for a superior performance in different markets. It was developed an exploratory-descriptive case study, based on semi-structured interviews with sectorial entities, company’s managers and representatives. The results revealed that the competences are directly linked to the agents who compose the productive chain, evidencing an interdependence and reciprocity relation among them. We identified two main core competences: Resources management along the chain and Integration of the commercial activities. The combination of these competences allows to the company growth and differentiation, as well as it prevents the imitation by the competition.
