In this study, we aimed to measure and asses the adopting impacts of strategies of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in the metrics of profitability (ROA, ROE and EVA) and risk (volatility) of the company JBS S.A. Firstly, we used the methodology of analysing the intervention for studying the pattern of metrics of profitability by means of adoption of strategies of foreign investments and, from fitted models, we can state that the FDI was able to change negatively the pattern of company profitability. Secondly, we modelled the return volatility of assets for verifying the stock market reaction after the announcement of FDI of JBS S.A. when, in general, results confirmed the hypothesis of FDI impact in the volatility because, in other words, the announcement of foreign investments affects the behaviour of the investor and, consequently, raises the risk of stock market. Therefore, the research is innovative because it reveals the interventionist character of FDI strategies in the metrics of profitability and risk of the company. .Downloads
