The present work aimed to report the process of development and establishment of the software named The Coffee Harvest Management System, stressing the importance of the users' participation in its developmental phases and transformations provoked in the harvest management routines. It is a question of a debate about the use of new information technologies and their impact upon the agricultural sector and, in particular on the coffee sector. The cooperative approach proved capable to give rise to a system which might meet the users' expectations and needs what confirms the statements by Greenbaum e Kyng (1991). Among the transformations provoked by the program stand out: increased output of harvest labor, reduced harvest costs, rise of the general level of information by the determination of the out put of "crews", workers within "crews" and the cost of harvest in each crop etc, as well as to decrease amount of office staff needed to harvest control.Downloads
